Longer hello

All beginnings are difficult, but this is the most. To show myself to the world, that is, not even myself, but my works. And let the world respond, well helloreka. And let’s start something: good, useful. Let come something uplifting, thought-provoking and attention-grabbing be created.

I’m trying to find what works.

We already found each other with the illustration.

Actually, ever since I left the economic „career”, which I could never identify with – I just thought it was useful (and because I wanted to understand the world), after/during art schools and courses, I actually illustrate constantly – perhaps more and more bravely and consciously.

Why do I like it?

A new illustration project is to create a new world. Visual storytelling, hiding little things, arousing emotions, directing attention or playing with shapes. There are many possibilities if the work is honest. It is also an exciting question, who will find me, what topic will they charge me with? How do we affect each other? What do we learn from each other? I certainly learned a lot from some projects, for which I am very grateful. I think I also approach design graphics from the perspective of illustration: how does the text relate to the image, what is the relationship between the image and the typography. I am more and more interested in how the text can become an integral part of the image or stand out from it.

I was looking for my place for a long time, a platform for honest expression in the virtual world, which turned out to be the biggest obstacle for me. I thought that I could best present the work of the past years to a larger audience on a well-structured website, thank you very much for Dani’s help! The blog provides an excellent interface for linking thoughts, recommendations, longer presentations, current affairs, and spiritual reflection. It’s worth commenting!

Future blog post plans

Book recommendations. Motifs descriptions. Réka’s  Visual Greening Program (later only #rvgp). And more.

  • Book recommendations. I would really like to introduce a couple of picture books that I like, maybe a little because many people here are still averse to them, even though there is so much potential in this genre. Go with curiosity and openness! You can train in advance! This illustration is a good thing and I will try to prove it in other works in the future! (This way, I will feel a little better that it’s not all about me, so that I don’t have too much of me on my own website.)
  • Motifs descriptions. I’m more and more interested in the origin. I am very interested in folk art. I think I’m basically good at individual folk forms and motifs. I don’t have any political goals with it, it’s a completely internal initiative. (Unfortunately, I don’t think it is better to clarify this at the beginning.) I know it’s not cool to be Hungarian these days; I’d like to prove the opposite in visual form – supported by some background information.
  • Réka’s  Visual Greening Program (later only #rvgp). I don’t have climate phobia, it’s more like a family inheritance for which I can’t be grateful enough. It would be nice if I could suggest some kind of love for the environment and make you think with the illustrations I have already made or will make in the future. If this has already been done to some extent, it makes me happy! Of course, there is always room for improvement! If there will be a majority of us who respect nature, then it shouldn’t be a big problem! Then it won’t be necessary to highlight in an urban plant box that >this is not a garbage box<… (And how do I green in real life? By slowly outgrowing the available spaces: the greening of our apartment, our balcony, our staircase, the small entrance garden, so to speak it worked. So I won’t deny it: I love planting with muddy hands and fiddling with plants.)
  • Etc…

Tuning

Anything tangible is a good thing. So, as soon as I finally approved my own logo after a long time, I had to have a stamp made right away, because it’s cool. And because I feel like I’m progressing at high speed. You have to wait a little longer for its widespread use, but I’m showing you virtually that I already have one! I can’t wait to hold a stamp class and use it live. I also enjoyed it the most as a tender consultant, but the stamps were boring there…

Come back next time! This is my little virtual home; I’m trying to get set up as soon as possible!
