“The Budapester commemorates the 150th anniversary of the city, celebrating this proud yet sometimes vulnerable metropolis that has seen so many bright and dark days.” The illustrations, following similar publications about other metropolises, speak about the history of Budapest in the unique format created by the prestigious magazine, The New Yorker.
151 Hungarian illustrators were invited to the event and the year numbers were given to the respective artists by lottery. I got year 2001 and I drew the inauguration of Millenáris.
